Pokémon Fans - Check out BOOK REVIEW Pokémon Adventures, Vol. 2

Story line:

Reads R to L (Japanese Style) Red’s mission in life is to catch and train all the Pokémon in the world...so he needs to get started while he’s still a boy. But these Pokémon aren’t inside his Gameboy or Nintendo or Wii...they’re real! Red has some stiff competition on his journey.

Chapters: 15 - 27

Avid reader Chelsea Gouin gives this book

3 out of 5 stars.

Volume two continues Red's adventures. I really like the mixture of game canon and a touch of anime canon to create a unique manga canon. Like Lt. Surge is in Team Rocket in this volume. There's a hint about the Giovanni being Red's father fan theory in here. When Red or Blue check their Pokedex maps it shows a screenshot from the GameBoy games, hilarious.

This volume continues to be mini adventures for each chapter, there was a bit more of an overarching plot. We see Team Rocket is trying to build MewTwo and we learn Blaine is actually behind it. Whoa. We meet Green, she's a flirt and a thief...she stole Prof. Oak's Squirtle which rounds out the three starters. Team Rocket is also capturing the three legendary birds for their own nefarious deeds.

And that's about it for the big reveals. Red adds an Eevee to his team as well? This is a cute manga but I'm not loving it like I want to. I'm definitely having fun with it and enjoying the ride but I just wanted something more I guess.
